Commercial Excellence Director

Location: Mumbai or Bengaluru
The Role

The Commercial Excellence Director is a key leadership position to drive commercial and business excellence by designing, planning and implementing commercial processes, policies and initiatives to maximise sales and revenue growth. The CE Director will apply actionable insights and innovative techniques to drive sales effectiveness and productivity. They will work cross-functionally with teams across Sales, Marketing, Finance and other commercial functions to deliver on strategic priorities and key business objectives.

The Commercial Excellence Director’s responsibilities will include:

  • Develop and deploy sales excellence and effectiveness capabilities to drive new sales, retention and upsell/cross-sell
  • Define and implement standardized sales processes, tools and methodologies across the organisation with clear KPIs to measure Sales Force Effectiveness (SFE) and productivity
  • Define global sales coverage model, territory planning, key account management models, commercial policy, quota setting and sales incentive structures to drive growth
  • Lead the shift from selling customized, on-premise software solutions to cloud based SaaS solutions that are highly configurable and easy to deploy
  • Drive a focused, data-driven approach to optimize customer segmentation & targeting
  • Embed automated sales analytics and reporting into monthly operating rhythm to simplify operations, track sales performance, measure pipeline health and improve forecasting
  • Deploy training and enablement programs to upskill the sales organization

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Lead Azentio’s Commercial Excellence function and play a key role in transforming the sales organisation, go to market approach and commercial business model to drive aggressive growth and support the evolving needs of the business and its customers.
  • As a commercial leader, challenge the status quo, bring forward new ideas, and drive the development of a winning sales strategies for the company
  • Design a world class Sales and Go To Market organization that achieves the reputation as an “employer of choice.”
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to deliver on the company’s business goals and create tight alignment and coordination across functions
  • Promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, empowerment, innovation, performance and overall excellence within the Sales organization
  • Build out the Commercial Excellence team to manage enterprise-wide sales planning and operations, commercial policy and performance management

  • Able to influence and drive adoption of new processes, tools and methodologies by articulating the value proposition

  • Demonstrated success both in entrepreneurial and larger corporate environments with creativity, energy and determination to solve problems
